Becoming a Member
UU Casper’s activities are open to all! We are fortunate to have a vibrant and diverse community of non-member “friends” who are fully involved in ministry, committee activity, and service projects.
If you feel your spiritual path draws you to a higher level of commitment to Unitarian Universalism and to UU Casper, we encourage you to thoughtfully explore becoming a member.
As stated in our bylaws, UU Casper “…declares and affirms its special responsibility to promote the full participation of persons in all of its activities and in the full range of human endeavor without regard to race, color, gender, disability, affectional or sexual orientation, age, or national origin and without requiring adherence to any particular interpretation of religion or to any particular religious belief or creed.”
Membership is open to anyone age 16 and older, and is accomplished by signing the UU Casper membership book. This signifies the member is in general agreement with the purposes and principles of Unitarian Universalism, and will support UU Casper by contributing financially and by volunteering.
UU Casper pays dues for all members to the Unitarian Universalist Association and to the UUA’s Mountain Desert District of about $90 per year. Members will receive a copy of the UUA’s quarterly magazine, UU World.
We believe membership in a religious organization should be meaningful and spiritually fulfilling, so even more important than the financial commitment of membership is becoming involved in whatever activities members choose, to whatever extent feels right to them.
