UU Casper: Why Being a Welcoming Congregation is Important

In 1989, the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) established a program to undo homophobia and transphobia, in our hearts and minds, our congregations, and our communities. UU Casper is inclusive of the concerns of LBGTQ individuals at every level of congregational life, and we are proud to have earned our UUA designation as a “Welcoming Congregation.” At its annual congregational meeting on June 4, 2017, the members of UU Casper voted unanimously to renew it’s UUA designation as a Welcoming Congregation. The UU Casper Social Justice Group will explore what it means to be a “Welcoming Congregation” and provide an update on the renewal process.
