The UU Casper Emerson Walk will be held Saturday, June 23rd, 9:00 am, at Edness K. Wilkins State Park (nine miles east of Casper on the old Glenrock Highway 20-26).
This annual UU Casper event celebrates the beauty of poetry and the wonder of nature! Bring a favorite poem to share from any author: original poetry is welcome! We’ll gather at the Mountain View Shelter for poetry sharing, and those who wish to will enjoy a walk around this beautiful Park. Bring something to drink, a sack lunch or snacks, sunscreen, good walking shoes, and maybe some binoculars! Great for all ages!
This annual event has long been named in honor of Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882), one of the most recognized and revered figures in Unitarian history. He was a Unitarian minister, essayist, lecturer, poet, and philosopher, and one of the most influential writers and thinkers of the 19th century.
Thanks to generous UU Casper members, everyone’s “per vehicle” Park admission will be paid for. For those wishing to carpool, meet at the Eastridge Mall food court at 8:30 am. If you need transportation or have any questions, email info@uucasper.org, or call Laura at 307-259-4469.
