Social Justice Activity: Casper’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day Activities

Here is the latest Schedule for Casper’s MLK Celebration on Monday, January 17, 2022: 

9:30 am: Participants begin to arrive at ART 321, 321 W Midwest Ave.) to view “Turn the Dream into Action” student art show and prepare for the march.

9:50 am: Rev. Dee Lundberg will share a few words and get the marchers started.

10 am: March begins from ART 321 to 1st United Methodist Church, 302 E. 2nd St.

11 am: Celebration begins at 1st United Methodist Church. See a sneak peek of the updated Casper Freedom Trail video, hear the Casper Day of Service Proclamation, take the Pledge of Nonviolence, and drop off donations for Project Homeless Connect (suggestions below)

12 pm: Celebration ends: Drive the Casper Freedom Trail and explore the sites (map below)

2 pm: Showings of the video begins at The NIC, 400 E. Collins Dr.

We are also requesting donations of personal hygiene items to be distributed to our Casper neighbors facing homelessness and other challenges (suggestions below).
