Online Sunday Service: The Essence of Compassion

Honoring Losar (Tibetan New Year) and new year’s celebrations from other traditions around the world through the contemplation and practice of compassion, this service will present “The Neuroscience of Compassion”, a lecture produced by the World Economic Forum featuring Dr. Tania Singer (psychologist and social neuroscientist, scientific head of the Social Neuroscience Lab of the Max Planck Society in Berlin, Germany).  Herein she presents benefits and essential features of practicing compassion from a scientific perspective.  Following the video we will engage in a guided Tonglen meditation, a widespread and venerated compassion practice utilized throughout Tibetan Buddhism.
