June 2022 Letter From President Cindy

June 29, 2022

Dear UU Casper Members and Friends,

June 30th is the end of UU Casper’s fiscal year and my time serving on the Board of Trustees. It’s been an honor to serve the congregation as Secretary and then President of the Board while we entered into the pandemic, adapted to a digital streaming platform, and eventually re-adapted to life in our building again. As a member of UU Casper’s congregation, I am so grateful for the latest slate of members who have chosen to serve as trustees: Karon Windle (President), Sue Tupper (Vice-President), Megan Jessup (Treasurer), Brenda Evans (Secretary), James Bogart, and Damion Jessup. Thank you so much for your dedication to our community and mission! An extra welcome and thank-you to Brenda who signed the member book so recently and quickly stepped up to serve as a trustee! To all of our trustees, especially the new ones, I’m just a phone call away if you need anything.

For my next stage of involvement in congregational life, I have volunteered to chair the Membership Committee. The Membership Committee maintains records of membership, works to retain existing members and expand membership, and is responsible for all print, electronic, and other forms of congregational and public outreach materials. If anybody would like to learn how to assist in either the more technical or the more low-tech face-to-face Membership activities, please feel free to contact me. Any Membership Committee requests can now go to membership@uucasper.org. For those who already help with Membership activities, I am looking forward to working with you!

Given my limited time to keep up with our various publications (such as website, newsletter, and social media), I’m looking to streamline that process as much as possible. Some of that effort will include automating processes, but I also extend a request to all of you to submit requests for publications, whether a website blog post or an event to schedule, to this Google Form: https://bit.ly/39WkdVD. Submitting information to this form will help ensure I get all of the information I need from you and prevent requests from getting lost in my email inbox.

In addition to Membership activities, I will be helping our trustees and then committee members (pending board approval) learn to use our Google Workspace. I will be doing this in the form of a twice monthly office hour on Zoom, starting in July.

Again, I have been honored to represent you as President. I want to express a final Thank You to all of you who have served on UU Casper’s Board of Trustees in the past. Please know your service is well-appreciated by our community. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our precious Unitarian Universalist Community of Casper.

Sincerely,

Cindy Wright, President of UU Casper Board of Trustees (for one more day!)
