Great news! On the eve of the Winter Solstice 2020, the Casper Freethinkers became part of the Unitarian Universalist Community of Casper. Thanks to everyone who worked to bring this union together.

The Freethinkers is a science, objective reality, logic, empirical knowledge organization. It is made up of agnostics, atheists, egalitarianists, empiricists, ethicists, freethinkers,  humanists, rationalists, reasonists, secularists,  sentientists and skeptics. We are very supportive of engineers, mathematicians, scientists, technologists and the arts. The Casper Freethinkers has just passed its 2nd. anniversary and has a discussion group which meets on the  2nd. Saturday of every month at 1:00pm. It is hoped to start a Speakers Bureau  in the near future. The Casper Freethinkers will take this opportunity to wish everyone  Solstice Greetings, a Merry Season of Reasons and Well-Being,  by having  a personal relationship with objective reality.

The January 9th Freethinkers discussion topic is “Secular Humanism, Sentientism and Consequentialism. What is your position?” Join us in Zoom room 459 187 0381. For security purposes, Zoom events now require a password. Click here for more information on how to join online. Everyone is welcome! Questions? Email news@uucasper.org.

Freethinkers Thoughts:

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell.

“Fear is the main source of superstition,  and one of the main sources of cruelty.  To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.” Bertrand Russell.

“Freethinkers are those who are will to use there minds without prejudice and without fearing to understand things that clash with their own customs, privileges, or beliefs. This state of mind is not common, but it is essential for right thinking.” Leo Tolstoy.
