The Bishop Family story is one of adventure, perseverance, entrepreneurship, and enduring community commitment. Its roots stretch back to a colorful colonial‑era pirate tale, a surprising beginning that ultimately leads to the legacy preserved today in the Historic Bishop Home of Casper, Wyoming.
Susan Bishop, youngest granddaughter of pioneer businessman Marvin L. Bishop, carries this legacy forward. A graduate of the University of Nebraska and the University of Minnesota, Susan—together with her husband, John Strombeck—has spent the past 27 years preserving and restoring the Bishop family home in accordance with her family’s wish that it remains a living part of Casper’s heritage.
