There will be a potluck feast after the special Beltane celebration where we will dance around the Maypole.

This is one of several potluck feasts planned for this year. Future feasts are planned for Sunday, June 18th (hosted on Casper Mountain) and Saturday, September 23rd (Feasting with Friends).

The term “potluck” first came to notice in the 16th century in Thomas Nashe’s work and refers to the food or meal available for an unexpected guest at any given time.

It basically means the luck of the pot, wherein an uninvited guest also gets to enjoy a free meal; nowadays, it refers to the community arrangement wherein guests bring their food with them. The main intention of a potluck party is that every guest contributes something to the table to round off the meal.
