Annual Flower Communion

Originally created in 1923 by Unitarian minister Norbert Capek of Prague, Czechoslovakia, the Flower Communion is an annual ritual that celebrates beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community. In this ceremony, everyone in the congregation brings (or is given) a flower. Each person places a flower on the altar or in a shared vase. The congregation blesses the flowers, and they’re redistributed so that each person brings home a different flower than the one they brought. Click on the link for the full text of the service.

Looking for Rainbows

Each rainbow is unique based on the perspective it is viewed from. A covenant is a promise, often sealed with a symbol, tradition, or practice. The rituals can be powerfully indicative of a society’s and an individual’s relationship with faith. Click on the link for the text of Jayne Jacobs’ presentation.

Childcare and youth programming are available during the service, and refreshments and conversation follow. Everyone is welcome!

Privatio Boni: The Question of Good and Evil

According to the principle of privatio boni (Latin), evil has no existence on its own, but is simply the absence of good. We live in a world of opposites, where anything can quicky be judged one way or another. Our thought processes are primarily scientific and often two-dimensional. This topic explores another perspective on logically defined opposites such as good and evil, light and darkness. Click on the service title for a link to the full text of Jayne Jacob’s presentation.

Continuum of Affirmation

During this service we celebrated our welcoming congregation and participation in the 2018 Casper Pride festival.  We invoked the seven rays of our being as we raised spiritual energy and affirmed the inherent worth and dignity of all people.  We prepared a new parade banner honoring our many faith traditions and offering statements of love, compassion and affirmation which was then carried in the pride parade later in the day. Interview with a Soul

A soul is essentially composed of stories making each soul unique. Gaining insight into one’s soul story can help a person understand where they’ve been, where they are, and where they could potentially be.

Helpful Hopes, Unhelpful Expectations
