Topic: Interfaith

Unitarian Universalism honors wisdom from many sources—world religions, philosophy, science, art, and personal experience. At UU Casper, our Interfaith services draw on this rich diversity, exploring spiritual practices, teachings, and stories from traditions across the globe.

These services celebrate the beauty of religious pluralism and invite us into deeper understanding of the common values that unite humanity—compassion, justice, hope, and reverence for life. Whether through music, ritual, history, or storytelling, we seek to learn from one another and to honor the sacred in its many forms.

By lifting up voices and traditions beyond our own, Interfaith services help us practice respect, cultivate curiosity, and build bridges of peace in our community and our world.

Finding Balance Within The Flow

We live in tumultuous times when the daily headlines evoke feelings of cascading down a torrent of whitewater with no end in sight.  Sometimes our personal lives seem out of control, offering no chance to catch our breath.  How can we find our balance within the ceaseless flow of events?  The eastern religion of Taoism and experience of wu wei may guide us safely on our way. Click on the service title for a link to the full text of Rev. Rhodes’ sermon.

Mirror the Foreigner

Guest speaker, Pastor Libby Hugus, will present “Mirror the Foreigner” from the Christian gospel of Luke 10:25-37. Mother Theresa said “if we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

Pastor Hugus visits us from The Table, a Casper religious community of  “doubters + disciples together… a new missional community gathering for the practice of inclusive Christianity.”

Special Saturday Earth-Centered Service: Ostara – the Awakening of Spring

A special earth-centered service, Ostara – the Awakening of Spring, will be held Saturday, March 17th at 2:00 pm. Ostara is a celebration of the awakening of springtime in our minds, bodies and spirits as well as the turning of the seasons in the physical world.  The service will feature a brief discussion of the vernal equinox, associated festivals and the origins of common modern Easter traditions, followed by eclectic Pagan ceremonial invoking the Elements and springtime Goddess forms from around the world.  We’ll also enjoy participatory devotional activities, music and dancing, and light refreshments.  Wear your favorite bright springtime colors!
